In Progress · The Bishops Avenue, London
A private house on The Bishops Avenue, now at second fix.
Built by Crown Building, with the interiors now at second fix. Warm bronze tones run through the brassware and ironmongery, from the bath filler and shower valves to the staircase balustrade, and a custom mural wraps the upper landing, revealed in full from the second floor. The photographs and film below were taken on site in October 2026.
01 The Staircase
A spiral in oak and bronze.
A cantilevered spiral rises through the full height of the house, oak treads carried on a curving bronze balustrade from the entrance hall to the roof light.

Up to the light.
From the lower flights the spiral frames an oval roof light, with the mural just visible at the top.

02 The Mural Landing
A painted landscape under the roof lights.
A custom mural wraps the upper landing: swans, reeds and woodland in soft greens and stone, lit from above and revealed in full from the second floor.

A second scene.
Warmer umber and ochre on a second painted wall, rising alongside a stair.

03 Reception Rooms
Versailles parquet and cove-lit ceilings.
Oak parquet laid in a Versailles pattern, panelled walls and coffered ceilings with concealed cove lighting, opening onto the garden.

04 Light & Bronze
Chandeliers, pendants and bronze fittings.
Glass and bronze chandeliers, a scalloped pendant, and warm bronze brassware from the bath filler to the shower valves.

In the bathrooms.
Bronze against honed stone, and a freestanding bath beneath veined stone walls.

05 Bedrooms
Calm, warm and full of light.
Bedrooms in soft, warm neutrals, with wide-plank oak floors and sash windows onto the trees.
